As a traveler on a budget, the Shalona Holiday Home in Galle provided excellent value for money. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, providing us with a small map upon arrival that detailed which buses to take for various Sri Lanka destinations. We were pleasantly surprised to find hot water and a delicious breakfast included in our stay. The clean and comfortable room, along with the welcoming owner family, made for a delightful experience. Additionally, the new building and free use of the basic kitchen and coffee and tea facilities were much appreciated.

It is slightly away from the old town, offering a quieter atmosphere. The rooms have comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms, ensuring a pleasant stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, making guests feel welcome. Additionally, guests can rent bikes at a good price to explore the surroundings. The breakfast is delicious, with highlights such as pancakes.

Sometimes there can be noise from the surroundings, including road noise and the occasional dog barking, which may disturb light sleepers.

We had a great time staying at this holiday home. the owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, even picking us up from the airport in Colombo. the room was clean and had everything we needed. the breakfasts were absolutely amazing, freshly cooked for us every morning. it was a good experience and we would definitely go back. Cons: Nothing to complain about at all! 😊.

We stayed at this lovely guesthouse for one day and it exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean and had amenities like a mosquito net, filtered water, hot shower, comfortable bed, terrace, and fan. The common living room was a great place to relax and chat with friends. The owners were incredibly accommodating and helpful, providing useful information. The location, slightly away from the old town, was actually peaceful at night. one of the most well-kept and friendly places we stayed at.
